I strongly DO NOT recommend to stay at this hotel, the hotel staff team is really unprofessional throughout my stay, and it’s been the worst experience I’ve had with Hilton hotels (usually I stay with Marriott hotels as I’m a loyal Platinum elite member of Marriott, although recently I’m thinking of turning to Hilton, but this stay dispelled my idea totally. Okay, the story starts, one day prior my arrival, I called to the hotel reservation team to ask if they are able to upgrade me to a suite room as I’m a diamond member of Hilton Honors, the representative who answered the call checked their internal system and after a few seconds she replied me with a positive answer which my suite will be guaranteed. Then I arrived at the hotel at around 2am on Oct 2nd, the staff who standing behind the reception counter told me that there’s no suite room available for the first night, but they can upgrade me to a suite for the second night, I told him I had conversation with their reservation team through the phone call and I was guaranteed for a suite room, his English is really not good and he just said “we don’t have” and ignored my words at all without any apologies. Okay, fine, it’s too late and I really need a bed to have some rest, I didn’t argue with him. When I entered into the room, it’s a super tiny room which I even could not settle my luggage, and there’s no welcome fruits prepared. Obviously they gave the suite room to other guests although I was guaranteed and assign me a temporary normal room which they didn’t do any preparation. According to the experience during checked in, this time I’m not shocked at all. Okay, I don’t mind, I don’t want to argue with them to get more benefits to make others thinking I’m incredible. The most horrible story happened during my checking out, the staff told me that I smoke in the room so they want to charge me 6,000.00 Baht for cleaning fee, apparently I’m a person who don’t have smoking habit. While she showed me a picture with a trash can and there’s some grey thing which she called it cigarettes ash in it ( and I didn’t see any cigarettes end at all). I told her I don’t smoke and I’m catching flight to Phuket at 5:30pm. She even doesn’t care about it. I requested to see her manager to talk with she said their manager is out of hotel (how can I imagine there’s no duty manager during office hours in a hotel???) obviously she’s lying, after I repeated emphasis to see her manager, she asked a lady who claim to be manager coming to my front. The ‘manager’ asked the staff taking me back to my room to see the ‘evidence’, after we entered the room, we didn’t find any cigarette ash in the trash bin, then she said it’s yesterday not today. EXCUSE ME?! If it’s yesterday, why you are taking me upstairs to find out the evidence, obviously they are just stultifying theirselves. This incident wasted me at least 30 minutes, that I didn’t have enough time to catch the flight to Phuket. After realized they said they will not charge me but I already cannot catch up the flight.
There are so many hotels in Bangkok, I will definitely not staying in any Hilton brand hotels for future trips. This experience made me feeling very frustrated and disappointed with Hilton. And also I will post my experience and feedbacks to forums and on twitter to advise other guests not choosing this hotel if they are planning trips to Bangkok.
