Recently, there are lots of complains about the priority club, So I write this mail to summary all the issues for all the flyertea members. Because it seems the normal support line and email can't work.
1. Lots of priority club numbers are locked with the reason of duplicated accounts. But without any notice. But some members complain that there is no duplicate accounts for them. When they request more information through support line and email, such as the evidence of duplicated accounts. No information is provided. Support line of China said they don't has any rights for the random audit accounts. Email always says that we are do auditing but it seems last for over months.
2. Some people received a rude email like this:
"You are not able to re-register for Priority Club Rewards, as this decision to close your account is final and definite. Rest assured, we are very confident in the case work we have to support this position, and if we discover that you have created another Priority Club Rewards account in the future, we will very diligently locate and immediately terminate that account, and you will forfeit any remaining points. Again, I can not reiterate enough that due to confirmed fraudulent activity, you no longer will be allowed to participate in Priority Club Rewards, and this decision is final."
I can't image that priority club is pushing customer to other hotels.
3. For the duplicated accounts, I think priority club is making a very big mistaken. I know for some cases, the duplicated accounts is not the member's fault. Hotels help to register in frontdesk and the member forget the account so they register a new one next time. But priority club seems to lock and freeze all the accounts. Even if the members has purchased lots of points in one of the account. To keep things fair, at least the member can keep one account and priority club can deduct the illegal points.
4. Now there are lots of complains on the forum about the priority club. Some person post "No more IGH stay' today.
I know Starwood value that their customer US$40K because if they study that if they lost one customer, they will lost about US$40K in the future. I don't know why it is so strange that IGH value that their customer as zero and refuse the future contribution.
To solve all these problem, I think it is time to adjust the policy that no more accounts locked and auditing. All locked accounts should released. But if priority club find there is cheating points in any accounts, priority club can freeze and deduct these points with email notice to customers.
