United States: Computer outage prompts delays to United Airlines flights nationwide
United Airlines on 17 June announced that a computer outage affecting airport processing and reservations systems has caused flight delays nationwide. The cause of the problem remains unknown. The outage has led to delays of around two hours at numerous airports around the country, including Chicago's O'Hare International Airport (ORD) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX); long lines at check-in counters and security screening areas have been reported. United Airlines has stipulated that it is in the process of resolving the issue. Additionally, the airline has stated that passengers have been able to check in if they held boarding passes printed prior to arrival at the airport.
I will take UA on Jun 18, not sure if all the problems will be resolved at that time.
