Real-name will be shown on the National Express Train Ticket from June 1 2011
Start from June 1 2011, the travelers who take the national express trains initial “G”, “D”, “C” need to show their names on the train tickets. A valid proof of identity is ordered when buying the tickets. 23 types of ID proofs are efficacious such as ID card, booklet, passport, etc. Travelers using one valid ID could only purchase one real-named express train ticket when getting on the train at the same platform with the same train number on the same day.
The travelers, except the children with free ticket or children ticket, who take the real-named national express train, should show their ticket and original valid identity proof which shows the same information shown on the ticket, when getting on the train. The consistency of the ticket and the IDs will be checked. The travelers without ticket or valid ID proof consistent to the ticket are not allowed to pass until the temporary ID proof is made in the accreditation office in Railway Police Station or the personal identity is verified by Public Security department.
The original ID proofs are ordered to show in the process of refunding real-named express train ticket. Travelers are advised to refund the tickets with the original ID proofs consistent to the ticket in the train station or railway ticket agency.
Please pay attention that travelers who take the express train between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhuhai are required to check the IDs by auto-ticket machine when buying the tickets. CITS American Express suggest traveler who take the above two real-named express train to bring the original valid ID card and buy the ticket in the train station or railway ticket agency.
Consequently Shanghai Train Bureau announced that the related real-named policy is starting from 15am May 22 2011, for the express trains with initial G/D/C ETD on June 1 2011 or after.
