Here we go again. The copays that AA now charges for the award redemption of AAdvantage miles on BA flights after the anti-trust approval of the joint business, a.k.a. "fuel" surcharges, have risen yet again.
The copay for an award roundtrip business class ticket to Africa from the US in business class is now a staggering $1,090, up from $0 in September 2010 (although at the time the transatlantic segments had to be on AA metal).
Redeeming award miles from the west coast to London, where (with the exception of LAX) BA is the only non-stop option, now costs $608 in copays.
The fee on redeeming awards to India from the west coast the copay is $994.
Of course the number of miles needed to redeem has not changed.
Does anyone have any good ideas on how to best stop this scourge?
